Scale Operator

Job Description: The Scale Master is responsible for ensuring all material moving through the facility is properly weighed, labeled, documented and checked prior to being moved into the warehouse.  The Scale Master is also responsible for helping to achieve a high quality product that meets minimum standards set forth by the company to meet the customers’ needs in providing superior customer service and exceptional value to the customer.  

 

  • Understand, follow and apply information from the Run Instruction Sheet (RIS).
  • Weigh, tag and document each box brought to the scale.
  • Prepare RFS boxes for to ensure they are properly finalized for customers to receive.
  • Use established QC guidelines to grade the integrity of each box and skid brought to the scale.  Reject those that don’t meet standards and work with material handler to correct and resolve container issues. 
  • Oversee forklift operators and provide locations for material.
  • Close run books, which includes totaling all outbound ledger sheets and determining the overall yield of the run before production completes the runs and moves to the next run.
  • Probe and sample material as required.
  • Maintain the safe and orderly flow of material throughout the facility.
  • As the final quality check, ensure lids are clean and boxes are stable and properly labeled (with no excess labels) when shipping material.
  • Keep work area clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Must be flexable to work occasional overtime, including some Saturdays.

Machine Operator

Job Description: Operate both simple and more complex industrial machines efficiently to meet daily goals.

 

  • Clean and perform general maintenance on machines and production equipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Keep systems supplied with material via forklift.
  • Retrieve stage and store materials in their proper locations while maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Ability to use a calculator and industrial scale to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry and move material weighing up to 65 pounds, with or without accommodations.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to express oneself clearly.
  • Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, 80% of shift, and work in a fast pace and get on and off a forklift multiple times each shift.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.
  • Must be flexable to work occasional overtime, including some Saturdays.
